The Music Ministry at Trinity consists of two primary groups: the Chancel Choir and the Bell Choir. The Chancel Choir is open to anyone who likes to sing. They sing at both services, 8:30 and 10:45, on Sundays, and perform special pieces for special events periodically, such as Christmas Cantatas. Rehearsals begin in late August to prepare for worship services in September; the choir does not sing during the summer. Our Music Department is lead by some very accomplished musicians: Allen Richmond is the Director, Kay Larson is the Organist, and Debbie Pockras is the Accompanist. The choir rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7 PM.
The Bell Choir is directed by Marie Ellis. They participate in worship roughly once a month and rehearse weekly (Tuesday evenings at 7 pm) during the school year. Everyone is welcome to participate. Some experience is helpful, but this is a very helpful group and they would be happy to assist bell music novices.
There are other opportunities for music ministry, too. Since the choir does not sing in the summer, there are opportunities for soloists and ensembles to provide music for worship. Music is included in the education ministry and periodically the children lead the congregation in singing during worship. |
